Responsibilities of the Health & Wellness Manager at Tillsonburg Retirement Residence


The Health & Wellness Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day delivery of healthcare operations, ensuring that the healthcare services comply with the Retirement Homes Act (RHA) and other relevant legislation.

Essential Duties are the technical skills and knowledge that an employee requires in order to perform their role.

Below is detailed information on required Essential Duties for your position.- Assigns, delegates and evaluates the activities of the wellness department,- Plans, assigns and oversees the Residents' health and personal care services,- Participates in inter-professional assessments in identifying Residents' needs and develops an individualized plan of care, ensuring that the Resident is receiving the level and quality of agreed-upon care,- Implements and monitors quality improvement,- Meets with Residents/Families to resolve problems and concerns,- Organizes and participates in the Resident care conference on admission and at 6 monthly intervals or as the condition of the Resident changes,- Maintains accurate and complete health records,- Reviews pre-medical assessments to ensure that the community is able to provide the care,- Serves as the Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator for the community,- Responsible for the recruitment of associates,- Completes performance appraisals of associates as required,- Provides ongoing associate education,- Maintains the staffing schedules,- Promotes the Vision, Mission and Values of Lifetimes Living Inc.

Qualifications:

The qualifications needed to join our family at Tillsonburg Retirement Residence are as follows:


Current registration and in good standing as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario,- Current CPR & First Aid Certificate,- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, years of leadership roles in the senior housing industry,- Knowledge and understanding of the Retirement Homes Act and other applicable legislation,- Strong interpersonal skills,- Effective listening skills,- Familiar with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act,- Human resources and labour relations experience.- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory references.
