Responsibilities:
- Performs primary screen of international documents, checking for indications of fraud.
- Verifies the authenticity of academic documents and English test results.
- Understands international educational documents and accreditation and identifies the appropriate verification method for each.
- Develops and maintains a good working knowledge of international education systems and institutional accreditation.
- Provides a preliminary review and assessment of documentation submitted to meet admission and English Language Program requirements.
- Runs reports on payments for Admissionsrelated fees, updates payment status on records, and reconciles for Financial Services.
- Checks that correct communications are triggering and brings anomalies to attention of Coordinator and/or Director.
- Scans or makes copies of international documents and makes arrangements with courier service to return originals.
- Assists with file clean up, updates records and follows procedures to file irreplaceable documents, maintains file room.
- Provides coverage for front desk office assistant position and for other Admissions Assistant, when staff are absent.
- Interprets admission regulations as guided by the Admission team meetings and Coordinator, providing advice and assistance to staff, students, agents and the public.
- Deals with high volume of inquiries involving sensitive clients and confidential information that often requires immediate attention.
- Recommends and assists in the development and/or modification to policies, procedures and regulations within the scope of the position.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Postsecondary education an asset.
- Speaking/reading/writing/interpreting a/an additional language/s.
- Minimum two years related experience in postsecondary admissions, student services or registrarial area.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with staff, students and the public in a professional courteous manner.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written focusing on customer service and the delivery of accurate information.
- Ability to prioritize and cope with fluctuations in workload in a highpressure environment.
- Ability to organize work effectively.
- Ability to treat personal information with confidentiality.
- Ability to work with constant interruption.
- Ability to work independently and to make appropriate decisions.
- Must be able to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to work with complex data systems.
- Knowledge of a university Student Services environment preferred.
- Knowledge of a Student Information System preferred.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.
Condition(s) of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must be willing to work occasional overtime at peak periods.
Note:
The work described in this posting will be conducted in-person.
The salary range for this position will be from $40, $ **55,546.40 annually.
