Operations Manager Wood Flooring Company
Description:
- Operations Manager (OM) of small sized wood Retail/Manufacturing company plan, organize, and direct daily wood retail/manufacturing operations/builder onsite requirements (site measures, rectify any install issues, wood finishing plant visits, etc.)
- OM will contribute to the development and monitoring of operational budgets and promote efficiencies and highquality product through all processes.
Main Duties:
Operations Manager will perform a variety of duties including:
- Scheduling of work activities and human resources
- Overseeing staff performance, training, and development
- Developing strategic plans
- Managing production materials
- Developing customer relations
- Quality control and quality assurance inspections for finished products
- Reviewing production schedules to plan manufacturing operations.
- Managing safety standards
- Managing operational budget
- Evaluating production efficiency and ensuring optimum productivity
- Contributing to organizational sales and marketing initiatives where necessary.
- Wood product inventory control at Wud Floors warehouse
Work Environment:
The working environment in a small organization is a retail store/wood shop setting that consists of the showroom, office, woodshop facilities in one Oakville, ON location.
The Operations Manager will spend a typical workday shuttling between the Wud Floors location, job sites, wood finishing plants in Georgetown or Toronto, as necessary.
Operations Managers may be on the shop floor part of the time and should have the ability to be on their feet occasionally, for periods of time.

Education and Training Requirements:
- Completion of a college or university program in business administration is an asset.
- Five to ten years of supervisory experience in Manufacturing, Wood Flooring industry are considered a plus.
Essential Skills:
Essential Skills including numeracy, working with others, document use, reading text, oral communication and thinking skills, computer skills and customer service skills are necessary for this role.
Salary:
$60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
