    Description

    The Special Events Coordinator role will work with the Philanthropy, Clinical Programs, Communications, and other departments and will assist in all aspects of the day-to-day operations with a focus on project management, preparation, and logistics for CMHA YRSS' signature fundraising event, Mental Health in Motion, as well as supporting 3rd party events, CMHA Speaker Series, donor engagement and stewardship activities, Volunteer Management, Prospect research, and direct marketing.

    Short-term role: May 27 to August 23, 2024

    Paid: $16.55/hour - 21 hours per week

    The position is hybrid, 2 days/week and in the office as needed for events.
    Some evening and weekend work may be required (time will be flexed and will not exceed 35 hours/week). Must be available the full day of June 9, 2024 (Mental Health in Motion event day).

    Qualifications:

  • Preferred to be enrolled or a recent graduate of an events management or fundraising program;
  • Honesty, dependability and reliability;
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through;
  • Great sense of humour.
  • Experience/knowledge Needed:

  • Strong organizational skills with a systematic approach to working on several tasks simultaneously and working to deadlines;
  • A flexible attitude towards your work with a willingness to learn new skills and to assist the wider team to get things done;
  • A demonstrable interest and passion for learning more about the charitable sector and fundraising in particular;
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of people at all levels;
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to tailor templates, thank you letters, updates, and applications to supporters;
  • Professional and confident telephone manner;
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office suite of products and familiarity with fundraising software like RENXT, e-Tapestry, etc.
