Description

The
Financial Controller will work with a peer and will be responsible for the overall financial operations of Team Eagle Ltd, its US subsidiary, Eagle & Myslik Inc, and a number of other small related companies.

The role includes budgeting, forecasting and monthly/quarterly reporting to the Management Team, Board of Directors, banks, and other applicable parties.

The
Financial Controller is also responsible for the accounting processes, and maintenance of the accounting ERP systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the financial control and reporting of the companies


Job Duties:


  • Oversee the overall accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, general ledger and project and job costing.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and administer accounting ERP system (SAGE 300), provide technical assistance and training, coordinate updates and new functionality, work with third party provider as necessary.
  • Complete month end closing entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, etc.
  • Complete monthly government reporting and remittances for GST/HST, WCB, EHT, and other provincial/federal/state taxes as required.
  • Prepare, analyze and present weekly, monthly, and annual reports to both management and staff.
  • Prepare monthly reporting to banks and other interested parties.
  • Manage cash flow for multiple companies and currencies.
  • Manage foreign exchange transactions including forward contracts and letters of credit.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and capital expenditure planning and reporting.
  • Organize and lead yearend audit; prepare yearend working papers; liaise with auditors.
  • Coordinate yearend SR&ED claims
  • Manage other statutory audits as required.
  • Review and maintain corporate insurance policies.
  • Promote and maintain positive corporate relations with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Negotiate equipment and asset financing arrangements.
  • Responsible as corporate signing authority.
  • Other related duties as required or assigned.

Skill Requirements:


  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA, CA, CGA, CMA).
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial,/ State and local statutory requirements.
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms.
  • Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
