Telecommunications Technician (TELUS Authorized)
About:
As a trusted TELUS subcontractor, we are seeking dedicated contractor technicians to join our team as installers for TELUS' Future Friendly Home services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for:
Installation and Troubleshooting: Setting up and troubleshooting Internet, IPTV, and Voice services.
Infrastructure Expertise: Termination and troubleshooting of copper and fiber plant.

Low Voltage Wiring: Proficiency in working with low voltage wiring, including CAT5e/6 and coaxial cables.

Equipment Handling: Comfortable working with ladders (often at heights) and using power tools such as drills.

Customer Excellence: Providing exceptional customer service to uphold TELUS standards.

Sales Support: Identifying opportunities to sell and upsell TELUS products and services as a Solutions Advisor.

Inventory Management: Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records.

Legally Eligible: Must be in Canada and eligible to work legally.

Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Capability: Able to lift ladders (approximately 300 lbs.).

Driving: Hold a valid BC driver's license and have a high school diploma.

Background Check: Able to pass a background check.

COVID-19 Compliance: Immunized against COVID-19 and willing to adhere to safety protocols.

Flexible Schedule: Available to work on weekends.

Telecom Experience: Previous experience in the telecom industry is a significant asset.

Sales Experience: Sales experience is also advantageous.
What to Expect:

Contract-Based Role: This is a contract-based position.

Independent Business: You'll need to register your company and operate as an independent business.

Investment Required: Be prepared to invest in your own vehicle (7 years or newer) and install a ladder rack.

Tools and Equipment: You will need to purchase your own fiberglass ladders, personal protective equipment (PPE), and tools.

Flexible Workdays: Choose between a 4 day, 5-day or 6-day work schedule.

Uncapped Earnings: Enjoy uncapped sales commissions.

Bi-weekly Pay: Receive bi-weekly paychecks.
Pay:
$60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
Supplemental pay types:
- Commission pay
