Human Resources Manager


Reporting to the Vice President of Administration, the HR Manager is responsible for leading and administering all aspects of the human resources function for the day-to-day operations of the organization.

This includes administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs to support employees across the organization.


As the HR Manager, your duties will include:

  • Provide on-going day-to-day consultation and support to leaders and employees
  • Provide leadership and expertise to operations teams to help them achieve their goals in the areas of recruiting, retention, WCB and disability management, people development, safety, employee and labour relations, training, and succession planning
  • Develop strong partnerships and act as a trusted advisor for employees
  • Direct and supervise the work of administrative functions related to WCB and benefits, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training coordination, safety, and other HR functions
  • Manage and administer benefits programs for all employees
  • Manage and oversee all HR programs and policies, including compliance and adherence
  • Provide leadership and support to the HR, Administration, and Safety teams
  • Develop and present training programs for employees
  • Manage successful employee communication of policies, procedures and programs
  • Ability to counsel and advise senior leadership and the executive team on employee relations, performance issues and HR policies

Your experience includes:


  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Human Resources, including 2+ years' experience as an HR Manager
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, or related field with Human Resource Management certificate
  • CPHR designation preferred (a combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Prior experience leading a small team of direct reports

Requirements:


  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Proven collaborator with a serviceoriented approach to supporting and working with employees and the ability to act with a sense of urgency when required
  • Prior experience working with unions and/or employee associations is an asset
  • Ability to effectively work with and support employees at all levels and diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health & Safety programs
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation


  • Excellent computer skills

  • Office 365 (Teams, Powerpoint, Word, Excel, and Sharepoint)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical thinker/problem solver with ability to identify and resolve issues and provide recommended courses of action
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in leading workplace investigations and advising, guiding, educating, and supporting leaders in managing their teams
  • Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Salary:
$80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
