Position Summary
Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the facility's food safety and quality program.
This includes all necessary onsite and record verifications as well as facility audits, product sampling and associate training.It may also include testing requirements, pre-operational inspections, data entry and record keeping as well as other projects as deemed necessary by the QA Manager.
Key Accountabilities- Primarily responsible for the daytoday functions of maintaining the food safety and quality system in the facility
- Record keeping of monitoring and verification documents
- Associate training (production, supervision, maintenance, engineering, etc)
- Data entry of test results into electronic spreadsheets
- Preshipment verifications and sign off's
- Swab testing
- Water sample collection
- Completion of CoCs (chain of custody) documents to accompany samples for either internal or external testing
- Environmental, product and raw material sampling as part of food safety & quality program
- Perform product hold and release
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a College or University program in Food Science or a related field
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Computer Literacy (intermediate MS Word, MS Excel)
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to travel between 2 locations (6 kms)
