Job Title:

Maintenance Technician


Rate of Pay:

Starting at $30.00 an hour


Shift:

Monday - Thursday

4.00pm - 2.30am


General Duties:

The Maintenance Technician will perform troubleshooting maintenance work for repair, adjustment, adaptation, re-design, preventative maintenance and building maintenance.

Our Maintenance Technicians will ensure that machinery is operating properly and are able to assist the Millwrights / Electricians when necessary.


Building Maintenance

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities as assigned on all equipment and machines throughout the plant in conjunction with daily production requirements
  • Repair breakdown of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure alongside Millwrights / Electricians on site
  • Monitor hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Fabricate parts and other equipment as per instructions or blueprint
  • Assist in the installation and commission new machinery
  • Running tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation
  • Recommending job improvements and alternative methods (problem solving)
  • Perform building maintenance for various jobs around the plant and office settings
  • Integral role in Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Ensure food safety remains high priority and is an ambassador for a foodsafe culture
  • Accountable for taking all necessary measures in ensuring all safety procedures, required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the policies outlined by Del's Pastry, are being followed.
  • Participates in the ongoing development of automation
  • Communicates and coordinates with appropriate teams to maintain machines and equipment indicators
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health/safety and food safety regulations
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ years of maintenance or mechanical experience within food processing facility
  • Mechanical aptitude on wide variety of equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment effectively
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to carry out tasks on a timely basis
