JOB SUMMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create presentations to educate newcomers to Manitoba on the healthcare insurance landscape and MBC members about their benefit plans.
  • Deliver presentations to multiple audiences, in different communities, and, through translation services, in different languages.
  • Research and develop a recommendation to the Product Committee about inclusive plan enhancements that could be offered as embedded enhancements and/or optional benefit bundles.
  • Conduct market research into inclusive plan designs.
  • Collaborate with MBC departments, product committee, ethnocultural community organizations, Indigenous organizations, and others to gather research, insights, and feedback.
  • Proposed bundles for evaluation include traditional healing, gender diversity, care navigation, and accessibility benefits.
  • Develop recommendations to include benefits, benefit criteria, cost, sales, and marketing plans.
  • Research and develop a business case for a project to improve our customer experience by adopting inclusive language.
  • Conduct market research into the use of inclusive language including the use of gender, updated terminology, the use of plain language, and accessibility.
  • Develop an inclusive language guide.
  • Update existing gender requirements in collaboration with departments.
  • Submit a business case to Project Management for inclusion in 2025 project planning.
  • As approved by Manager, Business Solutions, initiate such personal and professional development, as may be required, to remain effective in this position.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, nursing, communications, or business administration with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion specific training and/or certification.
  • 13 years' experience facilitating and leading EDI initiatives or programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workplace EDI concepts and methodologies.
  • Understanding of insurance concepts and principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated passion for working with people.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple key activities within varied and dynamic timelines on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent report writing skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
