The Role:


As UpBeing's Product Design Intern, you will be an integral part of the team and assist the Lead Product Designer in owning the look and feel of the product.

You'll also collaborate with the development team and a variety of researchers, consultants and contractors to bring features to life - from initial conception and research to launched in app.

As one of UpBeing's first hires, you will have autonomy to move quickly and implement your ideas your ideas with the guidance and mentorship of our Lead Product Designer.

What You'll Do:


  • Rapidly develop product designs and prototypes in collaboration with the Lead Product Designer.
  • Analyze user research to inform design decisions.
  • Develop UI layers to turn lowfi wireframes into hifi mockups.
  • Help to conduct or take notes during user interviews.
  • Familiarize yourself with our underlying design framework, design principles and design best practices and champion those within the organization.
  • Interact with developers, contractors and consultants to help move designs through the product development process.
  • Internalize UpBeing and what we stand for and consider our users in every decision you make.
  • Remain uptodate on industry trends, market conditions, and consumer preferences relevant to your area of expertise.
  • Identify opportunities for product or feature enhancements and help inform the product roadmap.
  • Document the design practice at UpBeing and setup systems and processes to scale with the company.
  • Do and learn new, awesome things all the time.

What You Need to be Successful:

  • A solid design portfolio or other demonstrated experience.
  • Strong user interface design skills are required.
  • Solid technical design skills including familiarity with tools like Figma.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and an ability to work within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to execute on specific tasks while keeping the bigger picture of what we are building towards in mind.
  • Comfort working in a remotefirst, low overhead, low red tape, fast moving environment.
  • Strong sense of humility, with a learning mindset and a drive to improve.

Nice to Have:


  • Relevant employment experience with proven results.
  • Experience conducting user experience research and user experience testing.
  • An understanding of the way founders think and work.
  • Expressed interest or previous experience in Wellness Tech, Health Tech, Mental Health Tech or a similar field.
  • Experience working with thirdparty contractors and partners.
  • Relevant education, accreditations and certificates.
