FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:

The Picker Packer will utilize requisitions and order sheets to pick a wide variety of items, place and arrange items in containers and bins following specific instructions, and arrange containers on pallets
accurately, efficiently and safely.

The Picker Packer will check containers for damage, and confirm correct items and quantities are selected.

The Picker Packer will perform duties in accordance with standard operating instructions and ensure inbound and outbound shipments are correct and defect-free.

The Picker Packer will operate a forklift, maintain equipment and perform basic maintenance, conduct physical inventories and report quality variances.

To ensure success in this position The Picker Packer will need to perform to a high level of accuracy.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments
Meets specifics of customer orders in a timely manner
Pulls and packs orders accurately based on daily orders
Keeps products separated, organized and in good rotation
Completes order paperwork accurately and promptly
Monitors items quality, reporting problems to mitigate safety issues
Operates various pieces of equipment i.e. Forklift, Palletizer, Dolly Loader and Electrical Pallet Jacks)
Utilizes continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes
Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area

Complies with safety regulations including (but not limited to):

identifying and resolving safety concerns within the scope of the role
inspecting and reporting the safety of equipment, workplace conditions and activities

- reporting all accidents or near miss situations
- educating pedestrians about forklift safety

Proactively seeking out other areas to help when assignments are complete
Performs other related duties

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Proven work experience as a Picker Packer or similar role will be an asset
Experience of fulfillment processes and practices will be an asset
Experience in use of scanners, barcode readers, warehouse management software, as well as other digital equipment and systems will be an asset
