    Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)

    Job Duties Job Duties Instructional assignment will include 20- and 30-level courses in the Foundations, Pre-Calculus and Workplace streams, as well as a non-credit Math Bridging course.

    The successful candidate must be eligible for accreditation in Math in Saskatchewan. This is an in-person teaching assignment on Prince Albert campus, but some online teaching may be required. Position requires registration with the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board.


    • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
    • Plan and deliver learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
    • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
    • Maintain records of achievement, attendance and other student related information and report such information as required.
    • Identify resources and equipment appropriate to support curriculum/course implementation.
    • Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs including equity groups and diverse learners.
    • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
    • Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs.
    • Assist students in areas of personal, academic and career development.
    • Engage students in learning activities designed to strengthen ties to work and/or career development.
    • Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
    • Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
    • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
    • Follow regulations and policies adopted by SaskPolytech. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) The successful candidate must be eligible for accreditation in Math in Saskatchewan. Position requires registration with the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board.
    • Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
    • Valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate.
    • Through a combination of training and/or teaching experience, subject specialization in applicable subject.
    • Eligible for Saskatchewan accreditation in applicable subject.
    • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
    • Effective interpersonal skills.
    • Effective instructional ability.
    • Ability to work with individuals with special learning needs.
    • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
    • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
