The Company
Torex Gold Resources Inc.

is an intermediate gold producer engaged in the exploration, development, and operation of our wholly owned Morelos Property, an area of 29,000 hectares in the highly prospective Guerrero Gold Belt located 180 kilometers southwest of Mexico City.

The Company is based in Canada, with our Corporate Office located in Toronto, Ontario. As of 2023, Torex became the largest gold producer in Mexico.


The Company's mining asset is the Morelos Complex, which includes the El Limón Guajes ("ELG") Mining Complex, the Media Luna Project, a processing plant, and related infrastructure.

Commercial production from the ELG Mining Complex began in April 2016, and the Company's Media Luna project, located seven kilometers south of the ELG Complex, is currently under construction with commercial production expected to begin in 2025.


Torex's key strategic objectives are to deliver Media Luna to full production, integrate and optimize the Morelos Complex, retain and attract best industry talent, build on ESG excellence, and grow organically through ongoing exploration across the entire Morelos Property and through potential value accretive M&A.

Qualifications.

  • University degree in Mining or Civil Engineering.
  • 15+ years minimum in the mining industry.
  • Experience in leading and managing underground mining prefeasibility/feasibility study work (+US$100M).
  • Experience in leading and managing multidiscipline roles.
  • Experience in working with remote team members.
  • Previous work managing or part of a management team of major capital projects (+US$200M) in an operational environment (brownfields).


  • English

  • Spanish is an asset but not a requirement.
  • Additional Project Management or Operational Excellence designations
  • PMP, Six Sigma Black belt, or similar preferred.

Key Deliverables

Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Development

  • Build and lead a project study team with approved seconded employees, consultants, or contractors.
  • During the Prefeasibility and Feasibility study periods, leads the development of the engineering deliverables which will define how resources are mined with input and in coordination with Corporate Mines Technical Services
  • During the Prefeasibility and Feasibility study periods, leads the development of the process engineering deliverables which will define how resources are processed with input and in coordination with Corporate Metallurgy and Processing
  • Manage and produce engineering studies and deliverables to define the scope of facilities and scope of work to support project development.
  • Works with the broader team to develop tradeoff studies and recommends the preferred option for mine development approach, the scope of facilities, infrastructure, and constructability.
  • Lead the development of schedule, capital cost estimate, operating cost estimate, and project execution plan for developing the project studies ensuring compliance with NI43101 and considering all elements required to ensure confidence in execution and subsequent operation.
  • Input and support the creation and execution of a financial model that demonstrates the economic viability of projects,
  • Leads the development of a risk analysis describing the top risks or uncertainties to the delivery of the project and corresponding financial analysis.
  • Leads the development of an operational readiness plan within the project studies considering the transition from project execution to operations.

Regulatory requirements and permitting

  • Leads the identification of regulatory and permitting requirements for incorporation into the development of project plans.

Operational Considerations

  • Leads the evaluation of operational aspects of a specific development and/or integration requirements with existing operations.
