- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Documented proof of successful completion of a medication administration course.
- Demonstrated relevant experiences and/or understanding of the care requirements for senior in long-term care settings.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in both English and Finnish or Estonian is an asset.
- Current CPR certification.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Care and the Assistant Director of Care (MKK) or the Manager of Kotitalo Assisted Living (Kotitalo), the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is responsible for providing nursing care, including administering medication and treatments, to assigned residents, consistent with the standards of nursing practice, the MOH guidelines, MOH-LTC guidelines (MKK) and the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association's (OFRA) policies and procedures. The RPN (along with the Registered Nurse [RN]) is also accountable for ensuring that unregulated care staff provides appropriate care. The RPN works collaboratively with other members of the health care team in order to provide quality care to residents.
