Employees, and under direct supervision, the Success Centre Peer Mentor will perform the following duties:

Functions and Duties

  • The Student Employee will assist the supervisor by performing the following duties:
  • 1. Assist students in carrying out learning plans designed by a faculty member in a program, course or content area (for example mathematics, language) and the related study skills
  • 2. Follow Learning Centre procedures and maintain records of the work done with student
  • 3. Provide peer feedback on student work
  • 4.Model effective learning strategies
  • 5. Provide individual help in solving related problems
    Position Specific Functions

Education and Experience

  • Enrolled in a postsecondary program at Okanagan College
  • Prior work experience is an asset.
    Skills and Abilities
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team with an aptitude for working in a collegial and collaborative environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Welldeveloped organizational skills
  • Detailoriented
