At this time we are particularly focused on expanding our collection of herbs from the west african region.

Specific knowledge of traditional herbs from west africa and prior experience working with herbs from this region are highly valued.

Responsibilities:

Assist in cultivating and propagating a wide variety of herbs, ensuring optimal growth conditions
Conduct thorough research on herbs, including their traditional uses, cultivation methods, and potential medicinal properties
Collaborate with our Greenhouse Manager and Head Grower to develop cultivation strategies and production schedules for herbs
Monitor and assess the health of plants, identifying and addressing any potential issues related to pests, diseases, or environmental factors
Propagate herbs using various techniques, such as seed sowing, cuttings, and division, to ensure a continuous and abundant supply
Assist in maintaining accurate records of cultivation processes, growth rates, and any notable observations or results
Provide support and expertise to the greenhouse staff, sharing your knowledge and passion for herbs
Coordinate with our Purchasing Manager to source authentic herb seeds and materials for cultivation

Qualifications:

Proven experience and expertise in growing West African herbs or a similar role in the horticulture/agriculture industry
Indepth knowledge of West African herbs, including their traditional uses, cultivation requirements, and unique characteristics
Strong passion for horticulture and a genuine love for working with plants
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations
Excellent communication skills to share knowledge and collaborate effectively with team members

Salary:
$16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
