Overview

The BCTMB has a small office, with each staff member taking on a variety of responsibilities. The primary duties of this role are listed below.


Responsibilities:


Production:

  • Gathers information from turkey farmers and processors on flock placements and processing plant schedules
  • Enters data into the required software and keeps it updated throughout the year
  • Receives weekly reports from stakeholders; analyzes them for errors, omissions, and irregularities, and follows up accordingly
  • Prepares reports on BC's turkey production and keeps an organized schedule of reporting requirements

Marketing/Communications:

  • Develops and implements regular communication to stakeholders through newsletters, the online grower portal, and other electronic/print media
  • Contributes to and implements BC Turkey's marketing plan
  • Ensures the website is accessible, informative, and easy to navigate
  • Builds and maintains the BC Turkey brand through various channels including social media
  • Establishes a tracking system for marketing campaigns and online activities
  • Conducts research to identify marketing opportunities
  • Manages promotional vendors and contracts

Administration:

  • Monitors incoming communications and distributes information to growers as needed
  • Plans and executes meetings
  • Takes meeting minutes/notes and completes required postmeeting followup
  • Supports the organization of key events throughout the year (e.g. AGM, charity golf tournament etc.)
Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years' work experience in a relevant field
  • Excellent MS 365 skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience using WordPress or similar to develop and maintain a website
  • Experience with social media and digital communications platforms
  • Experience in the agriculture industry is considered an asset
  • Able to work well in a team and independently
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Wellorganized particularly in document and time management
  • Shows initiative
  • Communicates effectively and clearly
  • Can multitask and prioritize their workload
  • Detail oriented
Hours & Location

  • 32 hours per week
  • Office location: 19329 Enterprise Way, Surrey BC
Compensation
- $24 - $30/hour plus benefits and vacation
