- Read and interpret construction drawings
- Use survey instruments to establish correct line and grade
- Identify any conflicts and report to site supervisor
- Work with engineers and surveyors to solve problems
- Achieve correct grade by directing operators of equipment to adjust grade by moving earth, gravel, and other materials
- Measure distances from reference points or offsets to accurately install utilities
- Experienced working as a Grade labourer is required
- Mathematically inclined to accurately calculate or extrapolate finished elevations
- Valid drivers license and own reliable transportation
