Job Description:


As part of the team, you will be responsible to set up, run and monitor production equipment, meet, or exceed productivity goals, and quality standards at our Truro Ingredient Plant located at 1024 Salmon River Road, Truro Nova Scotia.

You will perform quality tests, operational checks and complete production records.

This position is responsible to cover employees while on vacation or otherwise absent from work so it does involve working in a variety of areas within the production environment.


Outline of duties:

  • Work in compliance with all safety standards and Good Manufacturing Principles keeping work area, equipment, and production floors clean, safe, and in compliance with all food safety requirements
  • Monitor and operate the required equipment in the powder area
  • Complete training period and perform tasks of a Processor (crosstrain)
  • Responsible to complete all paperwork, including weight check forms and product labelling
  • Take samples to be tested for food quality
  • Sanitize and clean production area
  • Regular manual material handling of 25 kg bags of powder
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School diploma
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated consistency, quality, and accuracy in your work performance
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and a conscious concern for safety
  • Physically capable of performing the job duties
Shift work and weekend work is required. At times, you may be scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week.
