Intermediate Systems Analyst for a contract opportunity with Ontario Government.


Estimated Business Days: 173 days with extension


Must Haves

  • 5+ years experience as a Systems Analyst
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Service (current trends in web development)
  • Handson experience designing and implementing microservices
  • Experience and understanding of DevOps practices, methodologies and tools
  • Agile/Scrum
  • Knowledge and handson experience designing and implementing IT solutions and working with: Modern JavaScript based technologies such as React and Node
Semantic accessible languages such as HTML5, CSS/SCSS
Code version control systems such as Git
RESTful and SOAP APIs


Nice to have

  • Public Sector Experience

Responsibilities:


  • Provide senior technical expertise, project leadership and coordination of activities in the development, implementation and maintenance of a diverse range of cost effective I&IT solutions.

General Skills:


  • Provides specialized technical expertise in the overall analysis of the design and architecture of systems solutions.
  • Ability to evaluate recommendations and ensures all recommended solutions for improvement are congruent with the project goals and objectives
  • Leads the analysis, development and documentation of design and architecture of systems solutions.
  • Guides the feasibility studies and cost effective analyses of proposed client I&IT initiatives, ensures all studies and analyses are documented
  • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, translating business documents into technical specifications
  • Ability to provide implementation and post implementation support as required
  • Oversees the research and evaluation of the technical components in the acquisition of software, hardware, technology, systems and products

Desirable Skills:


  • Knowledge and experience with middleware and gateways
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
  • Experience with development/maintenance of documentation as per Methodology
  • Good working knowledge of Dimensions and Facts
  • Knowledge of multidimensional structures (cubes)
  • Ability to gather, review and provide feedback to business requirements

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Technical Skills - 25%

  • Experience and knowledge of emerging trends as well as current industry standards and practices relevant to solution architecture, systems integration and automation
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Service
  • Experience and understanding of DevOps practices, methodologies and tools
  • Experience in design and implementation of DevOps pipelines
  • Experience creating, updating and contributing to critical technical documentation for the product including (but not limited to) security and architecture artefacts, implementation plans, testing plans, etc
  • Knowledge and handson experience designing and implementing IT solutions and working with: Modern JavaScript based technologies such as React and Node
Semantic accessible languages such as HTML5, CSS/SCSS
Code version control systems such as Git
RESTful and SOAP APIs

  • Handson experience writing automated test scripts for unit, integration, endtoend, crossbrowser/device, accessibility testing, etc.
  • Handson experience designing and implementing microservices
  • Knowledge of common authentication technologies, security controls, tools and protocols
  • Indepth knowledge and understanding of CRM systems (for example, MS Dynamics or Salesforce)
  • Proven experience with design and build of complex API driven solutions and transactional systems

Analytical Skills - 25%

  • Experience working within technology teams, collaborating closely with solution designers, architects, developers, etc.
  • Experience working with technical teams to research and analyze "current state" and to define options and recommendations for technology solutions
  • Experience in assessing and analyzing technical options and presenting costeffective, usercentric recommendations that meet the business needs
  • Experience identifying, managing and resolving complex issues and risks
  • Experience analyzing systems requirements and reviewing technical documentation

Communication Skills 20%

  • Strong presentation as well as oral and written communication skills, ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts
  • Experience collaborating with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Extensive experience working and collaborating with a large and complex group of stakeholders
  • Communicates with clarity and is able to get ideas across to teams/stakeholders effectively and without ambiguity
