The Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) provides client care and treatment under the guidance of Speech-Language Pathologists.

The incumbent is responsible for speech and language service delivery, targeting care plan goals established by the Speech Language Pathologist.


  • Provides speechlanguage therapy under the guidance of a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Collaborates with internal and external service providers to provide integrated service delivery to clients and families
  • Maintains department's materials
  • Assists the Speech-Language Pathologist with documentation, preparation and monitoring
  • Documents client progress towards achieving treatment goals
Maintains knowledge of current best practices

  • Assists in booking and preparation of parent training programs
  • Plans, creates and implements activities for language groups
  • Assists in data collection
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate Certificate Communicative Disorders Assistant
  • Eligible for membership in the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Previous work or volunteer experience with children
  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to work independently and within a transdisciplinary team.
  • Utilize a familycentered approach in service delivery.

Job Types:

Salary:
$23.50-$27.64 per hour
