Duties and Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Manager, Campus Identification and Information Services, the incumbent is responsible for the technical operations at the Campus Card Office and Information Carleton, and the associated administrative work related to those services and activities.


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fastpaced environment with tight time constraints and competing priorities.
  • Extensive experience working with others to troubleshoot problems in various types of technology.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Oracle Simphony system (software and hardware).
  • Practical experience is essential to develop the ability to rapidly identify and correct faults in equipment and workstations in the safest manner possible.
  • A thorough understanding of card technology, including smart cards and mobile IDs.
  • Proven experience in working effectively with crossfunctional teams and building relationships with colleagues.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills, particularly in the areas of teamwork and collaboration; the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy at all times.
  • Strong customer service focus with an emphasis on Service Excellence Standards.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • A thorough knowledge of University and Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supervisory skills complemented with leadership skills.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through:

  • The completion of the requirements for a 3-year post-secondary program with an emphasis on computer systems.
  • Three (3) years of experience pertaining to the installation, maintenance, and development of an Oracle point of sale system or equivalents, including work experience in a customer service environment including experience with computer technology, customer support, and administration.
