Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Chief Steward, the responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist with leading, teaching, coaching and inspiring a team;
  • Assisting the Chief Steward with ensuring all staff arrive for their shift on time, wellgroomed and ready to work;
  • Assign work station to all staff during lineup and pass on events and information;
  • Ensuring that all staff are following the proper procedures and standards set in place by the department;
  • Ensure that all Kitchens are cleaned, organized and sanitized;
  • Confirm all daily tasks list are completed;
  • Assist in the correct usage of all chemicals within the department and outlets, including appropriate training in accordance with provincial WHMIS legislation;
  • Assist any outlets and culinary team for any kind of resource request;
  • Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained and properly stored after an event;
  • Have a proactive eye for detail and cleanliness;
  • Assisting the Chief Steward with setting up function areas with required equipment and small wears;
  • Responsible for assigning break times for staff during shift;
  • Follow all safety standards and participate in the safety program;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

The Individual

  • Knowledge of industrial dishwashing equipment;
  • Ability to follow and give instructions;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize effectively;
  • Energetic, teamoriented individual;
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar position working in a fast paced production and catering fine dining environment;
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Formal culinary training is considered an asset;
  • High school diploma is considered an asset;
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift;
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Shifts are event driven and consist of mornings, evenings, and weekends. Flexible availability is required.
