Job Summary_


We are looking to hire an experienced
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Instructorto train and inspire the next generation of ECE educators.

Reporting to the Campus Director and the Program Lead, the ECE Instructor's primary duties and responsibilities include:


  • Teaching only preauthorized Province of Nova Scotia curricula, and/or CBBC Career College materials
  • Describe and distribute course outlines to students at the beginning of each class
  • Begin each class with an overview of the learning objectives and daily lesson plan
  • Grade students' daily work, projects, and quizzes in a timely fashion
  • Administer, record, and file all student assessments, according to program guidelines and procedures
  • Regularly check laboratory supplies inventory, and work with the ECE Program Director to order what's needed
  • Attend practicum site visits, to evaluate students who are on placement
  • Actively take part in ECE program team meetings
  • Contribute to improving the program curriculum and instructors' materials
  • Participate in Graduation Ceremonies and functions.

What You Bring to Us: Education, Skills & Experience_

  • Postsecondary Degree in Early Childhood Education, with at least threeyears' experience in a regulated childcare centre, family home daycare, or other ECE setting or program
- _Alternatively_, a College Diploma in ECE, with at least four-years' experience
- (NB: Private career college instructors with less than one-year's experience—who wish to be considered—must meet the requirements of the Private Career Colleges' Operation Regulations)

  • Demonstrated selfconfidence in a leadership role, and comfort working in a team environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and problemsolving skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software, and comfort with navigating new systems (NB: A basic computer literacy test through Wonderlic will be required)
  • Familiarity with Nova Scotia's Early Learning Curriculum framework: _Capable, Confident, and Curious_
  • Accountability for working 2540 hours a week, from Monday to Friday
- (NB: A Criminal Record Check and Social Media perusal will be conducted).


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 25-40 per week


Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour
