Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc. is currently seeking a Full Time
Network Administrator to
join our team The Network Administrator will monitor and maintain the network and computer
systems in the organization and provide primary user support. At the direction of the IT Network
Manager, the Network Administrator sets up and configures firewalls, switches, routers, servers
and computers; identifies and resolves network issues, diagnoses hardware and software faults,
Network Administrator also assists the Senior Technology Specialist with setting up audio and
video equipment for games, competitions, sporting events, meetings, and other events of various
sizes. The Network Administrator also assists in creating detailed procedural documentation for
end users as well as network diagrams, daily/weekly/monthly checklists, and the general
administration for the IT work group within the Building Operations department.

The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Completes IT projects while ensuring consultation and approvals as assigned
  • Sets up, configures, updates, and maintains servers, computers, switches, routers,
firewalls, data storage, wireless access points, and other peripheral devices.

  • Sets up new users, provides a computing device and necessary network resource access
as requested.

  • Creates procedural documentation, checklists, diagrams and maintains administrative
files for the IT group

  • Tests and verifies all changes made to enduser platforms to ensure full completion
implemented

  • Assists with liaising for major sporting events and attends events to provide IT support as
required

  • Maintains IT asset inventory, software inventory, licence summaries, warranty summaries,
and operations manuals

  • Preserves assets by ensuring routine backup procedures and disaster recovery
readiness

  • Ensures information security and control structures
  • Contributes ideas for strategies, policies, and procedures by assisting with evaluating
organizational outcomes; identifying problems; and evaluating trends

  • Secures network by enforcing organizational policies and security standards
  • Performs system installation, upgrade, patch management and server administration
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Acts to ensure the working order of all technology within scope
  • Maintains log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
  • Makes suggestions about purchases
  • Researches current and potential resources and services
  • Provides support for networked peripheral devices such as printers and copiers
  • Provides fully functional computers with required software and network resource access
as approved and requested

  • Maintains a summary of software and hardware setup information for each user
  • Monitors network for security breaches and/or changes in password or security status
  • Identifies and prepares hardware for disposal and other duties as assigned.
  • Strong knowledge of IT field with an understanding of business software, hardware, and
operating systems

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Server administration
  • Strong knowledge and working experience in setting up and managing virtual machines
using Hyper-V and VMware.

  • Good knowledge of Exchange and Office 365 administration
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Switches, Routers and Firewalls configuration and
administration

  • Scripting and basic computer programming is an asset.
  • Solid experience in desktop/server setup, maintenance, and upgrade
  • Ability to work in a team setting with strong communication skills.
  • Strong service approach to IT user support.
  • Ability to ensure privacy of information, securing confidentiality, and integrity to ensure
non-disclosure of information.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working in gameday operations, event planning, and/or customer service is
an asset.

  • Effective verbal, presentation, listening, and communications skills (both oral and written)
  • Must be able to work evenings, as well as weekends and some holidays.
