Track Maintenance Grader Operator - Elora, Canada - Grand River Raceway

Description

• Operate track maintenance equipment to prepare standardbred racetrack to appropriate racing conditions.
• Ensure safety and compliance and track readiness for racing, training, and qualifying.
• Recommend to the Raceway Manager on whether racing should be cancelled and provide insight on the issue at hand in terms of track condition and safety.
• Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition and maintain equipment logs.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders (including drivers and trainers)

• 12 years of maintenance/ supervisory experience
• Experience operating a Motor Grader and maintenance of racing surfaces
• Knowledge of track surfaces, racing equipment and materials
• General understanding of the operational and regulatory structure of horse racing

• Ability to work race dates including evenings (Mon-WedFri) & holidays(June-Sept)
• Exposure to hazards associated with Equine and Gaming Industry
