Job description
The Sales Manager at Pan Pacific Whistler is responsible for driving group, corporate FIT, and wholesale production across both properties.
This role owns the end-to-end group sales lifecycle and is accountable for commercial outcomes, operating in close collaboration with Revenue to ensure alignment with pricing strategy, inventory constraints, and displacement considerations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
Proactively solicit group and corporate FIT business through external sales calls, networking, market visits, and targeted outreach.
Identify and pursue new group opportunities aligned with hotel strategy and inventory availability.
Manage assigned sales segments and accounts, with flexibility to adapt as business needs evolve.
Supports marketing efforts for group segments and active participation in the REVMAX and Sales strategy meetings.
Group Sales & Account Ownership
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned group and corporate accounts.
Own the full group sales lifecycle including enquiry management, proposals, contracting, pickup monitoring, and post-stay analysis.
Ensure timely follow-up and conversion of enquiries to maximize production.
Resolve group-related concerns in partnership with Operations to support long-term relationships and repeat business.
Contracting & Commercial Discipline
Negotiate group contracts within agreed pricing, availability, and revenue parameters, in collaboration with Revenue.
Ensure contracted rates, inclusions, blackout dates, and room blocks are accurately reflected in all systems.
Monitor group pace, pickup, wash, and performance against expectations, escalating risks or opportunities as required.
Manage wholesale partner relationships, including production tracking and contract compliance.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare regular commercial reports, including group pickup, production summaries, and post-event reporting.
Review and interpret group and wholesale performance reports.
Ensure commissions are accurately processed in line with contractual and brand standards.
Maintain compliance with company policies, brand standards, and contractual obligations
Qualifications:
3-4 years of sales experience in a similar role
Previous sales experience within the hotel or hospitality industry required
Experience in the Whistler market considered an asset
Working knowledge of OPERA PMS preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Valid driver's license required
Proficient in spoken and written English
Additional language skills considered an asset
