Position Title:
Strategic Partnerships Manager (Foundations, Trusts, and Corporations)


Department:
Transformational Development


Reports to:

Status:
Full-time, exempt


Location:
Burlington, Ontario OR Byron Center, Michigan (hybrid work okay)


PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prospecting:

Network and establish connections and relationships with new prospects for grant funding focusing on charitable foundations, trusts, and corporations.

b. Stay informed of World Renew programs and field office priorities and communicate appropriately with regional team leaders and field offices to ensure that funding requests align with regional and country program priorities and the funding priorities of the organization

e. Ensure good coordination of the proposal development process using recognized project management approaches such as developing RACI charts and project charters; setting-up calendars and assigning tasks to collaborators; organizing meetings as needed to share information and make decisions; and ensuring adherence to the schedule and organizational guidelines and policies

f. Liaise between grant making institutions and others within World Renew to communicate the requirements for specific grants received

g. Seek funding from other institutional donors and partners as assigned

h. Work with other grant staff to provide surge support in times of heavy grant proposal writing and/or reporting as approved by supervisor

Program Design:
Provide results-based management (RBM) support to ministry teams for grant program development

a. Develop performance measurement frameworks and logic models which align with donor requirements

b. Review program theories of change

c. Advise on the selection of strong indicators

Increase collaborative funding opportunities:

network and establish connections and relationships with new prospects for grant funding focusing on likeminded international development organizations to identify potential consortium partnership opportunities.


  • Work with Ministry Teams and/or individual countries as assigned to develop local funding strategies and broader grant-funding strategies.
  • Facilitate/provide training and competency development for peers and/or Ministry Team staff in prospecting and developing team/country funding strategies.
  • Support and strengthen local capacity building of program staff in grant acquisition, proposal development and overall grant management.
  • Attend and participate in meetings of the PE team and contribute to a team culture of mutual support, accountability and learning
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to develop logic models and performance measurement frameworks for proposals
  • Experience developing and/or delivering training and coaching for capacity development in grants acquisition and management
  • Committed to a community development approach that emphasizes participation, empowerment, and local decision making and able to communicate effectively about this type of development approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a multicultural work environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented, team player.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and experience using Google and Microsoft Suite

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will maintain contractual agreements with consultants as needed.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE


  • A Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • At least three years of technical experience in grants required.
  • Professional certificate(s) and/or license(s) in Project Management preferred.
  • Two years' experience in international community development and/or disaster response preferred.
