***:The HACCP Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the HACCP program. The focus is on ensuring consistency and efficiency in maintaining HACCP protocol and developing and maintaining SOPs.


POSITON RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintenance and ongoing reassessment of the HACCP Program in a federally registered poultry slaughter.
  • Regular revisions to the HACCP Plans and Operating Programs, including SOPs and SSOPs. Changes in regulatory requirements, customer specifications or process environment require revisions of the HACCP system. All revisions are required to be implemented as per written procedure.
  • Train personnel in all food safety related procedures: company GMPs are related to all employees through our Personnel Training Program, train CCP monitors, train prerequisite program monitors and train new QA staff.
  • Perform or ensure verification and validation requirements are met: onsite and record verification at the specified frequency, ensure all CCPs procedures are validated and preshipment verification.
  • Track and respond to all CFIA observations and CVS (Compliance Verification System) tasks: gather and review relevant HACCP records for CFIA inspectors to perform CVS tasks, respond to any deviation noted on the weekly CVS Verification report and write and implement Corrective Action Plans for CARs received from CFIA.
  • Liaise with Third Party Auditors and CFIA personnel when required: act as the primary contact through audits and address noted deviations, ensure Dunn-Rite meets all customer requirements, ensure records and written programs are updated and meet customer guidelines and act as a contact when CFIA personnel have any concern.

Preventative Measures:
any deviation in the HACCP System requires taking corrective actions and preventative measures. This may include controlling product, retraining employees or revising the HACCP System to prevent the deviation.

  • Constructive contributions to ongoing improvement programs: monitor all employees for GMP and HACCP compliance, continuous revisions to the HACCP System and implementation, yearly review and reassessment of HACCP System.
  • Assist with product spec maintenance: changes to products and spec, assist in developing new items that meet customer requirement.
  • Assist QA Manager and QA supervisor during GFSI and customer audits.
  • Process improvement: assist with tests, sampling etc., monitoring CCPs and micro testing as required.
Other duties as required by the QA Manager.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Strong understanding of HACCP principles.

Knowledge of SFCR, GFSI


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Science or related field.

2-3 years' experience in a related field.

Certification in HACCP is preferred.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
