    Senior Interconnection System Study Engineer - Vancouver-(BUR00000Q)

    Our team in Canada is growing. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Interconnection System Study Engineer to join our team in the Industrial and Infrastructure group in Burnaby.

    About the Role

    ·Classical power system analysis & modeling including load flow, transient stability, short circuit analysis, and small signal assessments.

    ·Power generation and transmission studies such as System Impact Studies for interconnection of renewable and conventional generation, voltage stability, energy studies, insulation coordination, feasibility, and deliverability studies, harmonic analysis, power station and control system design, and network planning.

    ·Operations planning including short-term assessments, switching studies, and incident investigations.

    ·Steady-state and transient model development, testing, and field validation of the performance of generator control models

    ·Preparation of long-term, multi-scenario network development plans

    ·Preparation of detailed technical reports

    ·Global interaction with Ausenco colleagues to coordinate and execute studies.

    ·Manage client expectations through regular communications and responsiveness.

    About You

    ·8+ years of work experience as an Electrical Engineer

    ·5 years of work experience in steady-state, and dynamic system studies using PSSE, PSLF, PowerWorld, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and DSATools, PSCAD or similar power networks simulation software.

    ·Primary expertise should be in power system analysis and studies that model the behavior of power systems and their various components under steady state and perturbed conditions.

    ·Professional engineering license (P.Eng.) with Canada

    ·Master's degree in electrical engineering is required with a preference for a specialization in power systems.

    ·Doctorate degree in power systems would be an asset (or equivalent expertise developed through extensive experience in power system modeling).

    ·Ability to work effectively and efficiently in teams and meet deadlines.

    ·Effective communication and report-writing skills.

    ·Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and engineering programs

    ·Strong knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, including Canadian electrical standards and codes.

    Salary range: $118,000 - $150,000

    Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
