We have an unparalleled body of experience in the automotive vertical, working on some of the world's most prestigious facilities.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team.

Our Design and Project team work primarily on developing automotive retail (car dealership) design concepts for major brands such as Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Maserati, and Jaguar Land Rover to name a few.

The Project Manager (PM) reports to the Director of Design and Projects (Director).

PM works closely with the Senior Designer (SD) and a design production team throughout all phases of projects to ensure the goals and objectives of each project are met to a high level of quality and on time.


Essential Responsibilities
Management

  • Work closely and collaboratively with SD and design team to meet overall project objectives, identify resource requirements, manage client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
  • Work in direct consultation and coordination with the client's team to provide comprehensive oversight and review throughout the project.
  • Ensure goals and objectives of each project are met to a high level of quality, on time and on budget.
  • Monitor, coordinate and review the progress of Weis' consultant team to ensure compliance with the client's design program, schedule and budget, and recommend corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain uptodate program and project tracking files and reports, stored on Weis' server.
  • Use a consultative approach supported by business analysis in dealings and communications with Weis' clients, dealers and suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue project and program reports to stakeholders as required and requested.
  • Work with SD to manage new project definition, startup, design and wrap up.
  • Work with SD to manage the preparation, reporting and reconciliation of forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Identify and communicate scope variations and gaps to the Director, Weis team and client for review and corrective action.
  • Responsible for distributing all documentation, data and other information to project stakeholders.
  • Responsible for setting meetings and conference call schedules, preparing agenda and ensuring meeting minutes are taken and distributed to all project stakeholders in a timely manner.
Design

  • Assist SD to develop and/or maintain national specifications for corporate image program.
  • Support SD and manage assigned projects from early conceptual stages through to Design Criteria Document (DCD) phase.
  • Support SD in coordinating with program suppliers, automotive dealers and their consultant teams during preconstruction and construction phase of projects.
  • Consult with SD on schematic design directions to support preliminary concept and program details.
  • Assist SD in reviewing and commenting on design and technical documents, including construction drawings, prepared by dealer's project consultants, in a timely manner.
  • Conduct site visits and meetings at automotive dealerships as required, preparing deficiency reports as required.
  • Address construction and program questions from dealers and their consultant teams in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, correct and update documents during schematic design and design development.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications and calculations as required.
  • Assist in the coordination and review of technical work of associate designers on projects, providing mentoring and guidance.
General

  • Ambassador of Weis both internal and external accordingly, conduct oneself as a leader and role model.
  • Enthusiastically participate and contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs to further professional development of self and other staff.
  • Attend meetings in any of Weis' offices as required.
  • Participate in Weis teaching office ethic of continuously interchanging knowledge, experience and project insights with Weis' colleagues.
  • Contribute to process improvement and standardization.
  • Present training/professional development "Lunch & Learn" opportunities inhouse for architecture/design staff and others.
  • Commit to living the Weis Core Values.
  • Travel to client meetings as required and requested.
  • Follow strictly to Weis & Associates standards and guidelines, including AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:


  • Relevant education or experience in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management
  • Knowledge of Canadian construction industry
  • Proficient with data analytics tools (Excel, Tableau, etc.)
  • Fluent in English written, oral communication skills
  • French language skills considered an asset
  • PMP designation an asset.

Salary:
$70,000.00-$90,000.00
