    We are seeking Registered Practical Nurses

    Kew Beach Retirement Residence Program

    Part-Time Roles for Weekend Shifts - Saturday and Sunday


    About the program:
    The Kew Beach Retirement Residence is located at 500 Kingston Road, Toronto, ON. This program started in 2020 and we work in close partnership with Michael Garron Hospital.

    This program is a transitional unit for clients who have recovered from the hospital and are working towards transitioning back home or to a Long-Term Care Facility.

    Nurses will work either an 8 or 12-hour shift, weekly or bi-weekly weekend shifts as required by the program. This is a shift nurse opportunity, and no traveling is required.

    There is a $5 top-up premium for every hour.


    About the role:
    All KBU nurses provide an Alternate Level of Care (ALC) for clients. Charge Nurses (RNs) will assist in admission, discharge, medication administration, and communication with the resident's family and doctor. Our RPNs will support 8-12 clients.

    Nurses will work closely with Michael Garron Hospital healthcare staff, doctors, and physician assistants to ensure a smooth admission and discharge.


    Required Qualifications:
    Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
    Membership of your Professional Association preferred (WeRPN).
    RN diploma/degree or RPN diploma from a recognized university or college.
    Hold a valid First Aid or CPR Certification.
    Knowledge and experience in supporting geriatric clients is an asset.
    Charge Nurse and any leadership experience is an asset.
    Demonstrate effective communication (written and verbal) and documentation skills.
    Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability for the role.
    Commitment to modeling lifelong learning and professional growth and can apply critical thinking skills to provide client care.

    Successful completion of the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) to ensure safe work practices are followed (transfers, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling).
