Position Overview

The Treasury Manager, reporting to the Senior Director Finance - Treasury, plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of a company's financial assets and records.

They are the leader of the team responsible for the company cash flow forecasting, cash management, debt management and compliance, financial operations payments oversight, and related treasury policies.

This is a hybrid position in our Etobicoke Head Office.
Main Responsibilities

  • Financial Forecasting, Cash Management, and Banking Optimization:
  • Monitor and report on the company's liquidity position through cash flow forecasting and liquidity metrics.
  • Oversight of daily cash management activities, including monitoring and forecasting cash flows for operational needs.
  • Manage and optimize the use of banking services, including cash concentration and disbursement strategies.
  • Recommend changes in banking services or providers to meet evolving company needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
  • Debt Management and Compliance:
  • Optimize borrowings from corporate credit facility and manage interest expenses while ensuring compliance with covenants.
  • Preparation of quarterly debt compliance certificates and proforma debt compliance for acquisition transactions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary financial data.
  • Financial Operations Oversight:
  • Approval oversight of outgoing EFT and Wire payments from Accounts Payable team
  • Preparation and review of quarterly minority interest dividend payments, resolutions and coordination with Tax team on the annual T5 process
  • Document processing for opening and closing accounts, updating signatory lists, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.
  • Oversight of the cash entries and reconciliation process for all bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Develop and implement improvements to streamline the reconciliation process.
  • Investigation and resolution of discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Policy Development and Enhancement:
  • Support and maintain treasury policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant financial operations.
  • Identify ways to improve productivity, efficiency, and compliance through technology and process improvements.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Set clear objectives, provide feedback, and mentor a highperforming treasury team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with finance and/or accounting specialization
  • Accounting or finance designation
  • 3 plus years of experience as leading a treasury team or function.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience in the following systems considered to be an asset: Blackline Reconciliation, MS Dynamics365 and MicroStrategy BI
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point and Excel
  • Experience in multilocation and/or retail business environment considered to be an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Understanding of compliance and internal control procedures.
