Inject Tech Plastics is hiring a MOLD MAKER in our Kitchener facility.

About Us


As a subsidiary of IT Group, Inject Tech Plastics was formed to provide molding solutions and assembly services to the medical, automotive & consumer industries.

Our 61,000 square foot facility allows us to offer our customer base an expanded range of injection molding equipment, with presses ranging in tonnage from 28 to 1650 ton, along with new automation equipment to handle your extended run or touch sensitive requirements.

***Troubleshoot, Repair, and do Engineering changes to moulds (for ton moulding machines) using all conventional toolroom equipment. Mill, Lathe, Surface grinder.

  • Manufacture jigs, fixtures, end of arm tooling and gauges for assistance with manufacturing and quality control
  • Troubleshoot in process moulding defects/issues and assist in corrective action regarding tooling issues.
  • Manufacturing of spare components for moulds.
  • Assist in identifying Mold changes to improve processability of products.
  • Participate in design reviews, as requested by Tooling Lead.
  • Provide support to production and tool room personnel as necessary.
  • May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency. The list of duties and responsibilities outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed. This may include being on call some weeks.

Qualifications

  • Must have own tools.
  • Must be able to operate all conventional toolroom equipment.
  • Able to work to tight tolerances
  • Strong experience in injection molding troubleshooting (process and tooling) for press sizes ranging from 30 to 1650 tons. (5 years or greater)
  • Strong understanding in mold design and mold construction.
  • Tig welding experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of hot runner systems including sequential valve gates is an asset.
  • Experience with Textured surfaces and high polished surfaces.
  • Experience in hot runner troubleshooting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams and to accurately convey technical issues and information
  • Strong analytical skills analyze quality and other factors
  • Detailoriented, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrate personal time management skills.

Physical requirements


Bending & sitting to polish, designs and review, fill out forms, stand, walk, reading of work-related material, may require considerable visual attention to detail.
