GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development of short and long range goals and objectives
  • Develops, implements and maintains the security program for Paladin's contracts.
  • Takes ownership of staff and client issues and supports the timely reponse for both groups.
  • Performs interviews and meets all new staff being considered for sites within the portfolio.
  • Ensures all staff within his/her portfolio have adequate training based on industry, corporate and client standards.
  • Provides motivational and disciplinary discussions with all staff assigned within the portfolio as needed.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with the clients within the portfolio
  • Visit with the client and staff regularly and ensure that needs of both the client and staff are met.
  • Ensures that there are thorough Site Training and Employee Orientation programs in place at all sites within the portfolio.
  • Ensures that there are adequate numbers of trained security staff to meet all of Paladin's contractual obligations within the portfolio of business.
  • Monitors accounts recievable of clients within the portfolio and assist accounting when needed to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
  • Develops and maintains frequent security evaluations of client facilities and ensures appropriate recommendations are made to clients so that their security needs are met.
  • Monitors Incident Reports and takes appropriate action on the reports within the portfolio.
  • Performs other duties as requested to assist with corporate and/or branch needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in business or administration or related discipline and specialized training in protection services or criminology; or equivalent education or experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, preferably in a Security setting
  • Applicants must have a valid class 5 drivers license and a vehicle that will be used for work purposes.
  • The successful applicant will be willing to join industry associations and have a desire to learn through professional certification processes.
  • Must have working knowledge of appropriate legislation and provincial/national standards.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, social interaction and organization skills
  • Proven ability to effectively supervise and manage people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to write and present proposals to large organizations.
  • Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Creative ability to foster new and better ways to perform and succeed.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
