Events and Marketing Coordinator - Dalhousie University


The Events & Marketing Coordinator for Dalhousie University will develop implement and measure the effectiveness of marketing plans and programs, including those related to health and wellness and sustainability, for a vibrant university campus.

The Marketing Coordinator, who reports to the Director of Engagement with a dotted line to the Senior Regional Marketing Manager, will support critical business initiatives, including extensive student and university facing event planning, execution and participation, employee customer service training, customer-retention activities, raising and reinforcing brand awareness, increasing customer satisfaction and engagement, growing top-line sales, and improving margins and market share for Dalhousie University and Aramark Higher Education.


Responsibilities:


  • Plan, execute and participate in residential, retail, and catering events focusing on increasing student engagement, participation, and awareness of Dalhousie Food Services initiatives
  • Build and implement the annual, integrated marketing plan for residential, retail and catering to generate topline sales.
  • Communicate marketing, health and wellness, sustainability, retail, vending, and catering initiatives with the local team to ensure they have access to the latest digital and print materials, templates, forms, product labels, menu signage, and the like.
  • Oversee Aramark's feedback program to measure customer satisfaction and engagement across our marketing programs, proprietary brand, retail franchise and catering promotions, as well as health and wellness, and sustainability initiatives
  • Interact and cultivate strong relationships with all levels of internal clients, as well as suppliers, partners, and internal teams
  • Collaborate with the university's Marketing & Communications department on identifying, implementing, and measuring the effectiveness of crosspromotional efforts
  • Collaborate with the Aramark Canada marketing team, especially the Senior Regional Marketing Manager, to implement marketing, health and wellness and sustainability programs, track their progress and deliver reports on their effectiveness
  • Contribute to preparing and delivering client presentations, as well as quarterly and annual business reviews
  • Manage updates to the CaterTrax and Campus Dish website content
  • Supports site leadership in the completion of audits at each location to ensure compliance with planned menu, accuracy of menu vs. website content, labeling of menu items, cleanliness of location, availability of food, brand standard compliance, merchandizing, and appearance of food & presentation
  • Access retail strategies regarding merchandizing, increasing bottom line sales, customer service training and growth opportunity.
  • Other duties to support operations team as needed

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or Event Management. Other transferable background experience will be considered.
  • Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills. Project management experience is an asset.
  • Experience in the food services industry, especially in administration and/or menu planning, is preferred.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret and report on complex data from multiple proprietary and thirdparty software
  • Ability to communicate and deliver presentations clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage through change and ambiguity in a fastpaced environment.
  • Has a passion for food services, as well as health and wellness.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends or statutory holidays according to business needs.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada and not require work authorization sponsorship by Aramark for this position now or in the future.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred.
