    Guidewire Solutions Architect – Contract

    Reporting to the Director, Application Development & Integration you will be responsible for providing technical leadership within Guidewire suite, owning architecturally impactful solutions from design, through implementation, while guiding the delivery teams through that journey.

    Here is what a typical day looks like

  • Designing the integrations between Western's system and Guidewire Cloud
  • Designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, server, network, database, or data store, including components such as user interface, database schema, middleware and infrastructure
  • Identifying key business and technology drivers that impact application architectures, such as end-user requirements, existing application environment, and non-functional requirements
  • Participating in defining and developing technical specifications to meet systems' requirements
  • Designing and defining interfaces among systems components to ensure interoperability
  • Assessing and developing methodologies, procedures and software development lifecycle to drive continuous improvement
  • Evaluating and providing recommendations regarding existing 3rd party integrations used in clients Guidewire Cloud implementation
  • Performing design and code reviews to ensure that uniform application, system and/or database design standards are maintained
  • Supporting software development lifecycle, applying and following programming/ development methodologies and best practices
  • Business Partnership (25%)
  • Collaborating to create a medium and long-term architectural strategy for Western's integrations with Guidewire Cloud
  • Advising senior leadership and stakeholders on application, server and network technology and/or data design and architecture advancements, and making strategic methodology, development and major expenditure recommendations
  • Providing leadership and guidance to solution delivery teams to ensure solution design and implementation aligns to the target state architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the architecture to accommodate solution needs
  • Evaluating and assisting in defining long-term architecture, development and integration strategies for Western's Guidewire implementation that aligns with Guidewire best practices

  • Guidewire ACE Certification
  • Proven experience working as a Guidewire solution architect
  • History of analyzing & investigating, general business awareness, decision making ability, and problem solving
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field an asset
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours/week
