    About Voyis:

    Voyis designs and manufactures high performance underwater optical sensors for subsea vehicles (laser scanners, cameras, and lighting systems) that expand capability and enhance human understanding in ocean exploration and survey. Our products have enabled our customers to survey thousands of kilometers of the ocean floor across all 7 continents, as well as producing 3D reconstructions of famous shipwrecks like the RMS Titanic and HMS Endurance. Our mission is to push the limits of what's possible subsea and enable every underwater vehicle to see the depths like we see the surface.

    What you'll do:

    As a Product Manager at Voyis you will have a wide scope of work and be directly involved in all aspects of the products that we offer, spanning roadmap management, product definition & configuration management, and collaboration with commercial teams to produce effective product materials. This multifaceted role is ideal for candidates that want to develop knowledge of complex hardware systems and collaboratively work across both technical and business disciplines to deliver exceptional products to our customers. We are seeking someone with a strong technical background in both hardware and software fields, has an interest in robotics and sensor systems, and has a proven ability to manage and prioritize a diverse set of deliverables.

    The role will report to the CEO and include collaboration with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support teams. This will include working with the engineering team to execute on product roadmaps, define feature requirements, and manage complex product configurations. You will bring insights on customer and market value to these decisions and communicate plans to the wider organization. Collaborating with our customer support team, you will develop effective product documentation that educates customers and addresses their technical integration challenges. You will support the development of marketing materials and product positioning with our sales and marketing teams, regularly engaging with customers and conducting research to build an informed understanding of the market and competitor landscape. Some travel to industry events will be required to support your development of market knowledge.

    The voice of the customer is critical to Voyis' product development, and this position will enable you gather inputs from diverse sources and have a real impact on the incredible products we develop. Candidates will always be learning new things, engaging with leaders in the field of subsea robotics, and become an expert in underwater sensors.   • Manage the product roadmap & feature requirements definition, in collaboration with stakeholders and informed by market insights.
  • Define and communicate product configurations, versions, and roadmap to the wider organization.
  • Develop and maintain product documentation relating to configuration options, training materials, and manuals, in cooperation with Customer Support.
  • Conduct research and customer engagement to understand the market and competitor landscape. Use these insights to guide development priorities and marketing strategies.
  • Own product change management, and the rollout of product changes to all organizational stakeholders.
  • Support the development of marketing materials including product value definition, articles & blogs, and presentations.
  • This is an in-person role at our headquarters in Waterloo . Some travel will be required to visit and present at tradeshows and customer sites.

    Skills you will bring to the table:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical product management or engineering.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. This is essential for a role focused on collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to coordinate and collaborate with a team.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, prioritizing tasks to maximize impact.
  • Proven ability to distill complicated technical information into clear and digestible content for customers and other stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software in the context of hardware products.
  • Enthusiastic for learning about and building cutting edge technology in a unique market segment.
  • Bonus Points for:

  • Familiarity with subsea survey or exploration, offshore operations, or maritime industry.
  • Knowledge of optical systems such as – cameras, lights and laser scanners.
  • Experience working directly with industrial customers.
  • Data processing knowledge: Photo processing, 3D modelling, point clouds, photogrammetry.
  • Passion for photography, science, or industrial design
