Cumberland Community Homes has a current opening for a compassionate, kind, and eager individual as Residential Rehabilitation Workers for casual employment in our Small Options Group Homes, located in Oxford, NS.
As an RRW, you will play an active role in the implementation of our programs and services supporting persons with intellectual disabilities and various diagnosis towards a client-centred care and support.
Ability to communicate with participants without prejudice, listening and being supportive to what they have to say.
Help participants with Community, Cultural, Spiritual and Educational stimulus.
Help participants to foster confidence to advocate for themselves.
Transporting and accompanying participants to any recreation, groceries, family visits, medical appointments, etc.
Assisting in planning and preparation of meals, where applicable.
Ability to work as part of a team and effectively and communicate both verbally and in writing.
Be willing and available to complete for any required training.
It is an asset to have any of the following core competencies completed; First Aid/CPR, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, Food Hygiene, Medication Awareness, Fire and Life Safety, WHMIS, Individualized Programming Planning, Health and Personal Care and Behavioural Supports.
