    The Position:
    We have an opening for an Account Executive II to join our Commercial Insurance team working from one of our offices within our Western region. Individuals in this role are responsible for all sales and service of an assigned book of business; develop and maintain prospect list through direct solicitation. They are accountable for decisions made on all aspects of prospecting, as well as selling and servicing clients as per performance standards. They may also advise clients on claims or loss settlements.

    What you will be doing:

    • Develops and maintains a prospect list through direct solicitation (through solicitation of expiry dates and/or other methods as determined by BrokerLink); contact prospects regularly; conducts regular meeting with clients, maintains client relationships, and visits client sites as required
    • Reviews and analyzes existing commercial accounts to identify inadequately protected exposures; contacts commercial accounts prior to the renewal (within time frames required by Brokerlink) and recommends necessary or desirable changes in coverage.
    • Obtains all information required for a complete submission and prepares a proposal subject to BrokerLink guidelines; in the absence of a Commercial lines Marketer or Account Manager, responsible to place the account. Ensures all information is collected and documented in order to ensure client is properly serviced. Maintain good quality in the book of business by adhering to underwriting rules and good business practices.
    • Responsible for all Account Receivable activities. As required at renewal prepares proposal, arranges for replacement of account, arranges all payment terms for new business sales, and collects premiums or down payment as per BrokerLink guidelines
    • Develops and maintains a positive, cooperative, professional image with clients, community profiles, company personnel and other staff members, conducts business in such a manner as to enhance the professional reputation of BrokerLink.
    • Keeps abreast of markets, products and pricing issues, and shares information with BrokerLink
    • Coordinates with and advises the Account Manager on any claim or loss settlement and assists clients in documenting claims and in dealing with adjusters as necessary
    • Participates in BrokerLink sales initiatives. Proactively contribute to the effectiveness and work quality of the department and to BrokerLink as a whole; accept and adapt to changing requirements with respect to workflows and other job related matters

    • High degree of professionalism, diplomacy and integrity
    • Excellent customer service and sales skills
    • Excellent communication; capacity to coach support staff
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure and deadlines.
    • Able to work both individually/entrepreneurial, as well as in a team environment
    • Excellent Organizational and Time Management skills; multi-tasking
    • Post-Secondary Education or equivalent
    • 5-7+ years Industry, Sales and Customer Service experience
    • RIBO/AIC Level 1 and 2
    • Commitment to continual learning: CIP, CAIB 1 & 2 CAIB 3 & 4 or working towards completion
    • Experience with: Office Suite; TAM; CompuQuote, SAVERS, Policy Works
