  • About the Role

Reports to the Director of Finance in the VPRI Office with a strong team to support the Research Offices. We have a great hybrid arrangement primarily working in the office 2 days a week. We value work-life balance and although we have busier times in the year, we are mindful of employee work culture. This position will be very much centered around the management of projects related to Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) including BCKDF financial reporting.

We're looking for a highly self-motivated individual to work with other CFI team members to keep projects on scope, on budget and on time. It's an opportunity to suggest and implement process efficiencies so that the team can run as smooth as possible.

The ideal candidate welcomes working collaboratively with the team members with the goal of being on target of budget, timeline, and scope. The candidate should also be very self-motivated as it is a hybrid work arrangement. Also, with the reporting work involved the CFI FA should be comfortable with identifying and flagging projects that looks like they may not be reaching its goal. This way the team can mitigate any problems as early as possible and get projects back on track.

    Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a professional accounting designation (CPA), and five years of related work experience, including experience in financial management within a corporate or university environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent financial, budget management, accounting, and administrative skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
