We are currently seeking a Door Security Solutions Product Specialist to be based in our
Vaughan, Ontario, Canada headquarters.


Job Summary


As the
Door Security Solutions Category & Product Specialist, you stay up to date with product knowledge, business flow, sales process, and market dynamic.

Will analyze the competitive marketplace and keeps abreast of trends in the industry through research and by joining professional organizations, attending trade shows, and going to industry conventions.

You will interface with customers and obtain their feedback; addresses customer issues and concerns, suggests product enhancements, and identifies new business opportunities.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote our highly recognized, market leading brands, and to provide clear and concise messaging regarding new product developments, programs, and product line enhancements.


Your Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with business units in developing business plans and in designing, producing, launching, and advertising a company's products;
  • Coordinates with sales, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and other crossfunctional teams to provide marketing strategies, product development, management, and sales solutions.
  • Provides support for marketing strategies, advertising materials, marketing campaigns, tradeshows, television and radio ads, and other promotional activities, ensuring conformance to the imaging intended for promotion;
  • Monitors short
- and long-term product development and marketing;

  • Understand the flow and process of the manufacturing operations;
  • Negotiate issues with factories, sales, and customers as they arise;
  • Work with the product management teams in Group Operating companies to understand product; roadmaps and coordinate relevant Canadian input to the development process;
  • Work with Canadian and US colleagues to manage SKU data;
  • Own and manage the execution of product discontinuance and platform changes initiated by the factories, within DSS Canada;
  • Design and execute on key gotomarket strategies in line with overall group strategy and the Canadian marketplace;
  • Work with the various group marketing teams to leverage programs and resources that will support growth of DSS brands in Canada;
  • Own and manage product launch plans in Canada;
  • Work with DSS training and education resources to create programs that support gotomarket strategies;
  • Manage and assist in promotional and sales support activities including, but not limited to, trade shows, lead generation, technical and promotional literature development, and sales aid development;
  • Work with colleagues to maintaining websites with latest new products;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 4+ years experience in a support role, either in a related functional role, preferably in sales, customer service, in the door security industry or related field.

Key Competencies

  • Proven track record in successfully identifying and implementing analytical solution;
  • Demonstrated clear thinking and analytical skills, yet able to work in overall big picture setting as a strategic partner across the organization;
  • B2B experience strongly preferred;
  • Experience with Power BI a plus;
  • Experience with JDE a plus;
  • Strong Excel knowledge required;
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, project management skills, and people management skills;
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence staff across the organization (Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, IT);
  • Ability to travel approximately 2530%.
