Port Hawkesbury Paper is currently seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at PHP, you will be responsible to provide technical support to the maintenance department during day-to-day maintenance, major maintenance projects and shutdowns. You will become a leader in continuous improvement and implementing precision maintenance techniques. You will use your technical knowledge to diagnose problems and implement solutions. You will coordinate equipment overhauls always looking for ways to improve reliability. Coordinate project implementation with operations and maintenance while interfacing with consulting engineers, vendors and contractors. There will be short periods of assisting or filling in for the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. Working closely with various groups, you will be an out of the box thinker, constantly looking for continuous improvement opportunities while adhering to and promoting safe work practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidates will have a Mechanical Engineering degree (PEng is preferred) with three or more years of Mechanical Engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or related industrial environment. Previous maintenance experience while leading and performing in a highly technical and production-oriented workplace is considered an asset.
