Your role

  • Assigned to the Arts, Variety and Factual Programming unit, you assist the producer in designing, planning, preparing and presenting programming live, livetotape in a multicamera control room or from the field (electronic field production), and follow up on postproduction in accordance with corporate standards and policies.

Description of duties:


  • As delegated, you direct the subcontrol room (shotlisting for isolated cameras, audio and visual material for screens, electronic displays, stills, etc.).
  • You are in charge of preparing credits, supers and other productionrelated material.
  • You attend production meetings and help determine production needs in conjunction with the production manager or program coordinator (production calendars and schedules, resource bookings, costume and prop tracking, etc.).
  • You are required to scout locations for electronic field production and organize shoots.
  • You are responsible for locating and selecting audio and visual material from various sources and inquiring about rates and conditions for obtaining broadcast rights.
  • You are responsible for the program's continuity, timing and broadcast cue sheet.
  • You may be asked to fill in for the producer on certain tasks.

Qualifications:


  • Community college diploma in media art and technology or equivalent
  • Three (3) years' relevant experience
    including taking live programs to air in a TV variety environment

Skills:


  • Experience with live production in a multi camera control room, electronic field production and postproduction
  • Ability to time program segments by hand and using a stopwatch
  • Good knowledge of all aspects of TV production trades
  • Good general knowledge of the artistic community
  • Good knowledge of the Google environment
  • Solid command of French (working language)
  • Stage management experience is an asset
  • English is an asset
