Position Overview:

Responsible for Magna's Ethics and Legal Compliance and Human Resources programs, including Employee Opinion Survey and Employee Advocate programs. Assist HR team with all administrative functions, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of appropriate documentation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the recruitment and selection process (create hiring requisitions, conduct interviews, perform reference checks, prepare offer letters, etc.).
  • Conduct new employee orientations and exit interviews.
  • Coordinate and administer employee training and development by updating training matrices and HRIS regularly.
  • Develop and present training programs/material.
  • Create, review and update HR & HSE policies and procedures as required.
  • Be the first point of contact for Compliance training and Corporate HR Programs and coordinate communication within Canada.
  • Track Compliance training to ensure effective implementation of all mandatory training requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to all Magna / MPT programs including wellness program, MagNET, communication boards, company events, etc.
  • Create presentations and present material on various different calls including but not limited to employee meetings, monthly health and safety call, monthly Employee Advocate call, etc.
  • Administer Employee Opinion Survey and Employee Advocate Evaluation Survey process including facilitating the survey, analyzing results, creating action plans, etc.
  • Develop effective working relationships with Magna Corporate, divisional leadership teams, HR Managers, HR department personnel, Fairness Committee members and Employee Advocates.
  • Follow Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.

  • All levels of employees and leadership at division (including Employee Advocates), group office and corporate locations in North America.
  • Global MPT HR team.

Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Minimum twothree (23) years' experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or business, or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources Department in an industrial / manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • CHRP, or working towards, considered an asset.
  • Able to work remotely due to the impacts of COVID1
  • Ability to work independently in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to travel within North America, approximately 25% of time.
