Job Summary:
Makes technical decisions based on knowledge, training and experience to maintain the integrity of the CSA Mark. The Certifier applies their theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge and practical experience to independently resolve certification problems. Knowledge of all areas of Certification and Testing, such as exposure to laboratory testing, field services and customer visits. Completes edits and reviews technical reports.
Responsibilities:
- Provide certification services for CSA clients in the Wiring Devices area.
- Evaluate products design/construction, formulate test plans and analyze test data to determine compliance with applicable Wiring Devices Standards including but not limited to CSA C22.2 No. 65 Wire Connectors, No. 130 Heating Cables, No. 158 Terminal Blocks, and IEC Appliance Couplers, as well as applicable UL Standards.
- Engage proactively with service delivery team and ensure all certification assignments are completed systematically on time and within budget.
- Responsible to maintain technical integrity and consistency while ensuring the safe delivery of certification services within the Business Unit.
- Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Need to interface closely with customers, certification staff from other certification groups and other team members, including lab technicians, on any certification related activities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 02 years job related experience or
- Certified Engineering Technologist/ Technician with 35 years industry experience.
- Application of CSA safety standards related to wiring device products would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian, Provincial, US, and Electrical Codes would be an asset.
- Knowledge of CSA certification process.
Skills:
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills are necessary.
- Familiarity with MS Office required.
- Familiarity with Salesforce an asset.
- Must also be flexible and perform well in a team environment.
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness/ability to travel (North America, Asia, Europe) when travel resumes.
