Description

Who Are We?

AWC is one of the few companies that specializes in the design and manufacture of moulds for the die casting and foam automotive seating industry.

We are not a button pushing type of facility as we often are working on custom parts as well. Our ISO 9001 facility is conveniently located just north of the 401 in Courtice, ON.

Since our opening in 1984 we continue to pride ourselves on being a small but mighty Ontario based company that has always been an inclusive and diverse employer offering opportunities to talented individuals with great work ethics.

Who are you?

You have been working as a Machinist/ Mold Maker or Tool and Die profession for at least 5 years and you're ready to take on the responsibility of supervising two shifts - with - 8 employees under your guidance.

As an individual that takes responsibility, you have an uncanny ability to organize your day on a consistent basis.

You are able to spot ways to improve and create processes that improve overall functionality of the team, and production.

Currently you are often called upon to assist in the training and development of the staff around you, and you take pride in your ability to communicate clearly with all levels within the company.

Quality is like a second language to you, due to this you are also an individual who creates avenues for better organization on a constant basis.

You're well versed with manual machining, and can comfortably train individuals as needed.

What will you be doing?

Your day will begin with organizing and setting up the staff with their duties for the day and clearly communicating the quality requirements.

Often you will be required to organize work orders in an effective manner so that production is kept at a steady reliable pace, while maintaining and vigilantly protecting our strict quality standards.

As we are a fast paced facility that works on multiple projects at a time, you will often reorganize the production day according to the priorities of the business.

This will require you to develop avenues that foster collaborative communication in order to ensure production is met on a timely manner.

Often you will be required to train and support staff with their job development, spending most of your time on the shop floor, however you will spend some time in the office completing reports and reviewing opportunities for improvement.

You communicate between staff and management on a daily basis and promote and maintain the safety standards we stand by as a company.
