Responsibilities
The Rehabilitative Care Worker (RCW) assists residents, in a safe and supportive manner, with all aspects of daily living including personal care and program participation.
The RCW supervises and assists with meals and snacks, clothing care, recreation activities, vocational programs and other activities as assigned.
The RCW performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Administrator, Director of Resident Care or delegated representative(s).
He/she attends professional development opportunities and meetings as required.Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage a workload flowing from several directions
- Proven ability to work both independently and in a team situation
- Proven ability to adapt to flexible work practices
- Current Core Competencies as required by Department of Community Services:
Ø Personal Care
Ø Individual Program Planning
Ø Behaviour Supports
Ø Medication Awareness
or willingness to obtain same within six (6) months of hire
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR
- Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Mandt training
- Recent related job experience preferred.
Shifts - Normally consists of 12-hour shifts, days and nights, including weekends, and holidays
