The position supervises the unit, which provides oversight and delivery of tax processing and administrative services to the branch.

The objectives of the branch are to provide front line services as well as the effective and efficient processing of payments and returns received under the tax statutes and programs administered by the Taxation Branch as well as ensuring the processing of all divisional correspondence and the timely archiving of all business tax files.

Qualifications:

Essential:


  • Completion of a Business Administration and/or Accounting Diploma or Certificate. A combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Proficient in a computerized environment including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to learn custom software programs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a multitasked team environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills

Duties:


  • Process and complete routine amalgamations, ensuring that businesses are registered correctly by gathering, reviewing, verifying, and confirming information provided by successor and predecessor companies, Canada Revenue Agency, and Manitoba Companies Office.
  • Generate and print applicable tax returns to initiate tax reports and remittances, as well as replacing those lost or not received by registrants.
  • Maintain the data integrity of electronic accounts under the tax statutes and programs administered by the Division
  • Update and correct filing frequencies of accounts already registered with the Division to ensure that businesses are filing in a manner required by legislation.
  • Experienced Tax Roll Maintenance Clerks may be required to provide training and guidance to newer staff.
